Lobster Roll “Connecticut Style” – toasted bun, big chunks of lobster, melted butter 😋

From Atlantic City to Stamford, Connecticut, where I’ll spend two nights. On the way, stopping at the Thomas Edison National Historic Park in West Orange, New Jersey. 

Like lots of resort and/or casino cities, you don’t have to get very far from the touristy area to see something very different. These are all a block or two from the boardwalk.

These are hotels/resorts/casinos in Atlantic City that have simply been abandoned in place. Two of them are Trump properties.

In Atlantic City 

I spent last night in Cumberland, not as a destination city, but as a place to hide until Hurricane Jose had moved far enough up the coast for me to visit Atlantic City. As it turns out, Cumberland is a beautiful little town in the Appalachian Mountains. I suspect the people here feel a greater connection to West Virginia than to say, Baltimore or Ocean City. Lovely city.
