Road Trip Day 129 – Today’s Drive
Hampton, New Hampshire to Burlington, Vermont

Road Trip Day 127 – Adams National Historic Park in Quincy, Massacusetts
First two photos – side by side houses that are the birthplaces of John Adams (Signer of the Declaration of Independence, 2nd President of the United States) and his son, John Quincy Adams (6th President of the United States). Unfortunately, no indoor photography allowed.
Next few photos, the “Old House”, the house that John Adams bought after the revolutionary war and after his tenure as ambassador to Great Britain (but before he was elected President). Four generations of the Adams family lived in this house before it became a museum in I believe the 1920’s. As late as the 1970’s, one of the museum tour guides was a direct descendant of John Adams. It is now the property of the National Parks Service, operated in conjuction with the Adams Family historical society. Again, no indoor photography allowed.
Final few photos are of a church in downtown Quincy which has a crypt containing the bodies of John Adams, his wife Abigal, their son John Quincy Adams and his wife Louisa Catherine (the first foreign born first lady of the United States). This is the only location in which two US presidents are interred.
Road Trip Day 127 – Today’s Drive
Today I drive from Boston, Massachusetts to Hampton, New Hampshire. But, since this drive would take no more than about an hour, I’m gonna to make a couple of National Parks side trips:
- Adams National Historic Park in Quincy, Massachusetts
- Minuteman National Historic Park in Concord, Massachusetts
Then, I think I’ll be done with historic sites for awhile π

Road Trip Day 126 (18 Weeks) – States Visited So Far
26 States plus the District of Columbia so far. That leaves 22 contiguous states still to visit by car plus Hawaii by plane (not sure when) and then Alaska by cruise ship from Seattle.
When I leave Boston tomorrow, I plan on visiting New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. After that, not sure, we’re getting into the time of year where weather may become a deciding factor as to where I go next.
