Lucky enough to arrive just as a couple of boats were traversing the lock. According to the Lock Master, these are rental house boats. Wouldn’t that be fun?

I’m showing New York as green because I’ve met all of my criteria for having visited the state. However, I’m far from done with New York. Tomorrow I’ll drive from Syracuse to New York City, where I’ll spend four nights in Manhattan and then three nights in Brooklyn.

Left Rochester, New York this morning, spending this evening in Syracuse, New York. The only reason I’m in Syracuse is for scheduled maintenance on my car tomorrow morning.

Dinosaur BBQ – pretty much a no-brainer when in Rochester 

Today I drive from Worcester, Massachusetts to Rochester, New York, where I’ll spend five nights.

Rochester is mostly about taking a break from travel. Five nights in a Residence Inn, which is more like a small studio apartment than a hotel room (includes full kitchen). I may take a couple of day trips, to say, Niagara Falls, but other than that, I’m just gonna relax (and maybe skip restaurants for a few days).

• Battle of North Bridge and the “Shot heard ’round the world”

Unfortunately, I didn’t see anywhere near as much as I would have liked, it was raining all day. Got some highlights, though.
