Buffalo burger at the famous tourist trap, Wall Drug. Good!

Fairly easy drive today, all freeway (I-90). I’ll probably stop at Wall Drug – should be a good place to find a South Dakota fridge magnet and they also have reasonably good food. Wall Drug is however, be every definition of the phrase, a “tourist trap”. But that’s OK, I like visiting tourist traps.

I’ll then be spending three nights in Rapid City where I have a rather ambitious schedule. I plan on visiting the Badlands National Park, Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse memorial and, if there’s time, Devil’s Tower in northeast Wyoming.

 

After a short though very enjoyable visit to Des Moines, Iowa, it’s time to move on. Today I drive to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, again avoiding freeways.

Wine in a hotel plastic cup, Sling TV on the laptop… perfect 

No matter where I am, sometimes it just has to be beer and wings 😋
