Driving to my first “Destination City” in Florida, St. Augustine. Hopefully, I’ll be there in time for lunch.

Through Louisana, Mississippi and Alabama, arriving in Florida exactly one week after leaving the Seattle area.

Gonna be a long day

Today I begin heading east.

Should be easy – freeways all the way.

Yesterday was easy, just had to contend with rain in the morning. Today may be a bit slow going due to emergency road repairs on US-101 and CA-20.

Newport, Oregon to Eureka, California on US-101 along the Oregon/California coast.

Heading to Florida by car, it should take just over a week to get there. After a couple weeks of warmer weather I’ll head back to the NW (maybe some extended stops along the way). Should return home in early February. Not quite a full year trip but it should still be fun.

First stop will be Newport, Oregon.
