On this trip I’ve eaten seafood all up and down the east coast, from lobster in Maine to shrimp in Key West. But, with the exception of Maine lobster, I still think the best seafood is on the west coast. Tonight, Dungeness crab 😋

From Bakersfield to San Francisco. I’ll spend three nights in San Francisco before my Hawaii cruise on Saturday.

Best part of being in Bakersfield

From San Diego, California to Bakersfield, California, where I’ll spend two nights.

Not really much in Bakersfield, but a good place to stop on my way to San Francisco, where I need to be Saturday morning.

Saturday in San Francisco I’m boarding a cruise ship for a 15 night cruise to Hawaii. Tomorrow in Bakersfield will be a chance to do some laundry and re-pack, switching from road trip travel to cruise ship travel.

California BBQ (brisket and beans). Quite good though not Lockhart, Texas good 😋

Pretty much a standard in California seafood restaurants – Cioppino 🙂

In San Diego, it has to be fish tacos. Plus gumbo just because I like it 🙂
