Captain Tony’s Saloon in Key West
My favorite dive bar in all the world

Road Trip Day 172 – Lunch in Key West
Cuban combo plate…
Picadillo Habanero – savory ground beef cooked with tomatoes, onions, garlic, bell peppers, cumin, bay leaves, oregano, olives, capers and raisins
Ropa Vieja – “Old Clothes”, marinated shredded skirt steak with red and green peppers, fresh tomatoes, onions and red wine
Lechon Asado – traditional Cuban roasted pork in cumin-mojo sauce
Served with yellow rice, black beans, fried plantains and yucca

Hurricane Damage at Bahia Honda State Park
This is a lovely little state park about 35 miles from Key West. I always stop for a visit when I’m in the Keys. It was virtually destroyed during Hurricane Irma in late August/early September of this year.
The first 13 photos are from 2015 and 2016. The final 13 photos I took yesterday. Quite a dramatic (and sad) difference.
Road Trip Day 172 – Key West
Gonna be a crowded city today…

Morning in Key West
Not a bad spot for breakfast…
