Left Rochester, New York this morning, spending this evening in Syracuse, New York. The only reason I’m in Syracuse is for scheduled maintenance on my car tomorrow morning.

A classic western New York sandwich at a classic Western New York restaurant – Beef on Weck (with German potato salad and cole slaw) at Schwabl’s in West Seneca. Outstanding. 😋

Second time I’ve been here, but it’s still spectacular. Lots of photos.

Dinosaur BBQ – pretty much a no-brainer when in Rochester 

Today I drive from Worcester, Massachusetts to Rochester, New York, where I’ll spend five nights.

Rochester is mostly about taking a break from travel. Five nights in a Residence Inn, which is more like a small studio apartment than a hotel room (includes full kitchen). I may take a couple of day trips, to say, Niagara Falls, but other than that, I’m just gonna relax (and maybe skip restaurants for a few days).

• Battle of North Bridge and the “Shot heard ’round the world”

Unfortunately, I didn’t see anywhere near as much as I would have liked, it was raining all day. Got some highlights, though.
