Road Trip Day 98 – Near Term Plans
I usually don’t plan or book hotels more than a day or two in advance, but today I’ve made an exception.
Tomorrow I travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were I’ll spend four nights. Since it’s no more than about an hour away, I’ll first drive to Baltimore and visit the National Aquarium.
After Philadephia, I’ll drive to Washington D.C., where I’ll also spend four nights. I had forgotton the odd, unique to D.C. hotel pricing. In most larger cities, hotel rooms cost a lot more on the weekends than compared to Sunday through Thursday. In D.C., it’s just the opposite, the cheapest days to stay are usually Friday and Saturday.
Road Trip Day 98 – States I’ve Visited
18 states visited so far, working on 19 (Pennsylvania). I added Washington D.C.. to the map also.

Road Trip Day 97 – Leaving Cleveland
One of the perils of not planning more than a couple of days out is at times not getting the hotel room I want. I was planning on spending the next two days in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Amish country, but the few hotels in town are sold out. So, instead, I’ll spend the next two nights in Ephrata, Pennsylvania (yes, just like the town in Eastern WA). It sounds like a lovely little town, and I can still spend tomorrow in Lancaster, which is only twenty miles away.

Road Trip Day 96 – Cleveland, Ohio
Science Museum, Downtown and Westside Market.
The Science Museum is interesting, but like most science museums, lots of hands-on exhibits geared towards kids. I played with a few though, it was cool.
Not surprisingly, downtown near the baseball stadium and basketball arena has lots of interesting bars/restaurants. Seems it could be a fun city.
I really enjoyed walking through the Westside Market.
