Morning started out rainy but it let up for a few hours in the afternoon. I haven’t been here in maybe 30-35 years, it’s still as amazing as I remember.

Whether in my room or as tonight, in a bar, sometimes antipasto and a glass of wine are all I need.

Once known as the “Whaling Capital of the World”, New Bedford was home to Herman Melville when he wrote “Moby Dick”.

No, a ribeye is not an iconic Massachusetts food and Rock Bottom brewery is not a local restaurant. I just wanted a steak 🙂

Amazing fried clams 😋

First, from Plymouth to New Bedford, Massachusetts to visit the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. Once the center of the US whaling industry, this is where Herman Melville lived and worked as a whaler when he wrote “Moby Dick”.

From there to Flo’s Clam Shack in Middletown, Rhode Island for lunch. This restaurant has appeared multiple times on the Food Network, so I gotta check it out.

Then finally to Boston where I’ll spend three nights.
