Chislic – cubes of deep fried seasoned meat (usually beef as it is here). In the U.S., it seems to be limited to South Dakota. Likely originated in Eastern Europe, perhaps Russia. The word is probably related to the Turkish/Arabic “shish” as in shish kabob.

Not for the faint of heart or those with fear of heights. Narrow ledge trail, plus a funky wooden ladder. But worth it in the end.

A truly amazing place. A bit of fog and drizzle in the morning (first time I needed a coat on the entire trip), but the sun broke out late in the morning.
