Only a few photos since lots of the exhibits were rather dark and flash photography was not allowed. However, this was a great museum visit.

Lincoln lived here from 1844 to 1861. Lots of the furnishing in the house are originals.

The house is within a four block area that has been restored to how it likely appeared in the mid-1800’s, including gravel streets and wooden sidewalks.

It’s such a short drive from St. Louis that I fully expected to spend the afternoon playing tourist in Springfield before checking into my hotel.

However, yesterday my car was reporting low tire pressure. Went to the local BMW dealership this morning, where the technician quickly found a nail in the one of the tires. Luckily, I have run flat tires, unfortunately I have a brand new one. 

Not the worst of days, but I didn’t get to Springfield until about 3:30. Full day here tomorrow.
