Late posting this one – I was there on August 13th

In work since 1948 and still being sculpted. When (if) completed, this will be the largest sculpture, not just currently in the world, but in the history of the world. I would love to see it’s completion some day.

Lots of restaurants

Omaha, Nebraska of the western bank and Council Bluffs, Iowa on the eastern.

I first thought that this was a natural stream flowing into a lake and eventually the Missouri River. Turns out it is all artificial. The stream and lake were excavated, pumps and plumbing installed, water added and now, water is pumped out of the lake to the top of the stream for a continual recirculation of water, a completely closed system (well, rain does add water). Artificial or natural, it’s still lovely.

Once again, took a chance on eating seafood in the Midwest – crab cake salad. It was good!
