Early start today (7:00 am MDT) for an approximately 180 mile drive through Glacier National Park. 

I’ve been traveling now for six weeks and with the exception of Boise, Idaho, every place I’ve visited I have been to before. That is about to change.

Today I continue east on US Highway 2 from Spokane, Washington through Sandpoint, Idaho and Libby, Montana, ending my day in Kalispell, Montana, where I’ll spend two nights. Once I get east of Sandpoint, I’ll be into what is, for me, new territory. I’m going to enjoy visiting places I’ve never been before.

Last night, made a quick stop in the Seattle area. Stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn on the Mukilteo waterfront (next to the ferry dock) and had dinner with a friend at the Mukilteo Ivar’s. Nice evening.

This morning, I drove up to Everett and began my eastward trek on US Highway 2 at its western terminus – Marine View Drive and Hewitt Avenue in downtown Everett.

Today’s route from Elko, Nevada to La Grande, Oregon

Gonna start making my way north, with the eventual goal of driving east on US highway 2 (Glacier National Park in Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Northern Michigan). Today’s stop – Elko, Nevada (one last casino town).
